Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident - Millsboro Hwy

Millsboro Fire Company was called to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Millsboro Hwy and Careys Camp Rd. Early reports were multiple occupants trapped. DSP aviation and Gumboro EMS were requested by EOC Dispatcher. Millsboro EMS arrived and reported priority 1 and 2 occupants trapped. A second aviation was requested from Maryland State Police. Sussex County Paramedics arrived and began ALS services. Engine 83-4 arrived and was assigned extrication of the priority 1 occupants with Deputy Chief Matt Warrington. Rescue 83 arrived and was assigned extrication and EMS assistance on the second vehicle with Lt. Robert Baker. Aviation was assigned a LZ in a field near the accident scene. Millsboro Fire Police, assisted by Gumboro and Dagsboro, closed and detoured traffic while Deldot was requested. DSP requested their Fatal Investgation Team. Two occupants were flown to Christiana and Peninsula Regional Hospitals. The other occupant was pronounced at the scene. The scene remained closed for four hours while DSP investigated.
