House Fire, Sussex Alley

On 11/18/14 @ 1832 hrs., The Millsboro VFC was dispatched to a house fire on Sussex Alley. The Dagsboro VFC and Sussex Paramedics were also dispatched to the alarm for mutual aid. Fire Chief M. Warrington responded to the scene and arrived to find a one story residence with fire showing from the front windows of the residence. Millsboro and Dagsboro firemen worked for aprox. 30 minutes to bring the fire under control and remained on scene to assist the family with salvaging their belongings from the residence. The residence belongs to Millsboro VFC Career EMT Amber Bare and her family. EMT Bare was working at the fire station when the fire occurred and her family was having dinner with her at the time. They did, however, lose their pets in the fire.  

Various groups, businesses, and community members have shown an overwhelming amount of support to the Bare family since the fire. The generosity of the community is truly remarkable and has made their recovery much more manageable.
